for your wedding.
The three most memorable things at a wedding: the dress, the food and the band. Make sure your entertainment is something very special.
Entertainment that guests remember
Keeping it fresh and full of energy, we have become one of Ireland’s most sought-after bands. You only have to look at our testimonials and Facebook page to see how much we love what we do, and so do the couples who book us.
Give guests exactly what they want
There is a broad age group to entertain at every wedding. We cater for all of them, aunties, uncles, mates, mother-in-laws. Everyone parties with The Moogs.
We won’t deafen you
There is always catching up to do between friends and relatives, and nobody likes shouting over the noise. We ensure the highest quality of sound, from start to finish, at a level that works for the room.
We don’t waste time setting up
Your big day passes in the blink of an eye. We arrive in plenty of time and set up in 30 to 45 minutes as the room is turned around. Mention to your coordinator that the sooner the band can set up, the sooner your party starts.
Book the band, not a brand
Band companies have crept into the market. Sometimes what you see is not what you get. The Moogs are the opposite: the same five musicians every night, there to have a fantastic night and watch the room fill with enthusiasm.
Only as good as your last gig
We do not rely on a fixed set list. Every night is different. We call the songs as we go, read the room, and build on whatever is making your guests party.
How we keep the floor full
We have more than six decades of hits and classics in the bag, and we know how and when to pull them out. Check our playlist for club, dance, rock and retro classics alongside the wedding favourites.
Things to consider for your big night
Small decisions on the day make a big difference to how the evening feels. Here is what we have learned from hundreds of weddings.
Start time
Generally you are seated for the meal by 5.30 or 6 and finished by 8. Speeches run till 9 or so and we are ready to go by 9.30. We are not fussy, speeches are often a highlight and some run longer than others. Speeches before or during the meal can work well too, it eases nerves and lets us set up while you finish teas and coffees.
Venue lighting
Can the venue dim the lights for a party atmosphere? Nobody really likes dancing under bright house lights. We bring professional lighting with us, and it works best when the room can be darkened.
Seating plan
Consider where you seat older guests, maybe a little away from the band. We do not deafen anyone, but comfort matters and people relax more when they feel settled.
Any singers in the family?
We love tailoring your night and having someone up to sing is always a privilege. Arrange it well in advance though, we do not want your night turning into an unplanned karaoke session.
Supper is served
We usually play for approximately 60 minutes before taking a break, coordinated with the hotel for supper, teas and coffees. If you have booked our DJ package, the DJ keeps the music going seamlessly through the changeover.
Where is the bar?
Having the bar in the same room as the entertainment is a big plus. If it is doable, do it. If not, do not worry, we have a knack of making the dance floor the place to be.
